Thank you for visiting this Remedee Foundation ("Remedee") Internet web site located at the URL www.Remedee.org ("Site"). This Privacy Policy details certain policies implemented throughout Remedee governing Remedee's use of personally identifiable information about users of our Site.
Due to the Internet's rapidly evolving nature, Remedee may need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If so, Remedee will post a change notice with its updated Privacy Policy on our Site and we may send registered users an email. Information Collection and Use
You can generally visit our Site without revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself. If you register as a participant on this Site or for an account on this Site, we will collect your name, email address, age or date of birth and password. We may also collect additional personally identifiable information that you voluntarily post in your user profile or in a chat room or message board. Other participant users will be able to contact you and share stories with you through the Site, search participant profiles and view the information that you have posted in your profile.
We may use your personally identifiable information to register you to use our Site, deliver certain services, goods or information you have requested, verify your authority to enter our Site and to improve the content and general administration of the Site and our services and programs.
We may use small text files called cookies to improve overall Site experience. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Cookies generally do not permit us to personally identify you.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age; and that we obtain the consent of parents and guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use certain features of the Site. Below we explain how we do that for these "kids." Also, when we use the term "parent" below, we mean to include legal guardians.
Personal Information we Collect From Kids
If a kid signs up for a mailing list, we will collect the kid’s name, email address and password. If a kid contacts us, we will collect the kid’s name and email address and any additional information the kid elects to include in the kid’s communication to us. If a kid registers as a participant on this Site or for an account on this Site, we will collect the kid’s name, email address, age or date of birth and password. We may also collect additional personally identifiable information that a kid voluntarily posts in the kid’s user profile or in a chat room or message board. Other participant users will be able to contact other registered participant kids and share stories with the other registered participant kids through the Site, search participant profiles and view the information that a kid has posted in a kid’s profile. We will not condition a kid’s ability to participate in an activity on this Site on providing more information than is necessary to participate in the activity.
How do we use and disclose personal information collected from Kids
If a kid signs up for a mailing list, we will only use their information to repeatedly respond to their request (i.e. to send them the mailings they requested) and if a kid contacts us, we will only use their information to respond to their request one time. Additionally, we may use a kid’s personally identifiable information to register a kid to use our Site, deliver certain services, goods or information a kid has requested, verify a kid’s authority to enter our Site and to improve the content and general administration of the Site and our services and programs. We will disclose a kid’s personally identifiable information if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law or regulation or in cooperation with any governmental investigation. We may transfer a kid’s personally identifiable information to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which Remedee participates or to a purchaser of all or substantially all of Remedee's assets to which this Site relates.
How do we notify and obtain consent from parents for the collection of personal information from their kids
Before allowing a kid to register on this Site, set up a user profile or participate in a chat room or message board, we require the kid’s parent to return by facsimile or postal mail a signed consent form (DOWNLOAD HERE, 108KB PDF).
How can parents access, change or delete personal information about their kids
At any time a parent can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information about their kid and can request that any personal information we have collected be deleted from our records. A parent can contact us at privacy@remedee.org access, change or delete their kid’s personal information that we have collected or can access their kid’s account and access, change or delete their kid’s personal information. For a parent to access their kid’s account, the parent will need to have their kid’s email address and password.
