“Reel Lives has been the best experience of my life. I learned to view my life at a different angle, from different points of view. I learned skills that will be a part of my future.”
-- Phylicia, Reel Lives, Altadena, CA
Remedee improves the quality of life of the youth that we work with and the communities of which they are an essential part through our In the Classroom, Reel Lives, and Reel Earth programs. The purpose of these programs is to provide artistic education opportunities to youth from economically disadvantaged communities by creating a leadership development documentary filmmaking and new media program. Reel Earth also provides these youth the opportunity to express their concerns about today’s environmental crisis through film.
Remedee believes in inspiring young people who are faced with social and economic hardship to embrace the importance of becoming global citizens. By connecting the impact of these issues with the reality of their lives, young people have an opportunity to directly impact their own communities in positive ways. From increasing community awareness to taking an active role in advocacy and change, our film production and mentoring programs enable our students to become confident leaders in their community.
